Florida WR picks up second SEC offer

Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee wide receiver Eric Williams is a 5-foot-10 192-pound wide receiver rated among the top 100 wideouts in the country. Heading into the weekend, Williams held four scholarship offers but on Friday, offer number five came, giving him his second SEC offer.
"Ole Miss offered on Friday," Williams said. "I was excited. That's an SEC program and the last couple years they've had someone taken in the first round of the draft so I know they can get people drafted."

Though Williams had been in contact with the Ole Miss coaching staff, the offer wasn't completely expected.
"It was almost a surprise," he said. "I had the coach's number but when I talked to him, he said he was going to evaluate my film and after he evaluated it, he'd get back to me."
Apparently the Rebel staff liked what it saw and has joined South Carolina, South Florida, Marshall and Middle Tennessee State as schools populating his offer list. Currently, Williams has the Gamecocks on top but not by much.
"I guess you could say South Carolina is leading but I still haven't narrowed it down to them yet," he said. "Everyone has an equal chance, I just haven't decided anything."
Williams is part of a very impressive group of skill players at Manatee, joining Rivals250 Clemson commit Ben Axon on the offensive side of the ball.
