Florida WR high on Heels

Three-star Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby wide receiver Del Roberts has a leader and a top four as he prepares to close out his senior season and begin official visits.
“Right now, I would definitely say North Carolina is my top school,” he said. “I love the location and the school and the conference they play in. I also feel like I could come in and contribute right away, if not at wide receiver, definitely on kickoff and punt returns. They say they really like me on special teams.

“Iowa is up there, too. I’m also thinking about Syracuse and Michigan State. (MSU) said I should be getting my scholarship offer in the mail sometime soon. I’m pretty sure I’ll be visiting those three, plus North Carolina.”
Roberts (5-9, 165, 4.4) had scheduled trips to North Carolina (Nov. 21) and Iowa (Dec. 19), but said he may end up switching both of them.
“We’re in the playoffs, so I won’t be able to go to North Carolina this weekend,” he said. “I talked to them about doing it in January now, probably Jan. 16. I think I’ll switch Iowa to January, too, but I’m not sure when.”
Nebraska had offered earlier this year, but Roberts said he hasn’t heard much from the Cornhuskers of late, and will likely not schedule a visit to Lincoln now.
“I still want to take five, though, so there’s a chance for someone else to get in there,” he said.
As a senior, Roberts has caught 59 passes for 942 yards and nine touchdowns. Although he rarely gets kicked to on returns anymore, he has one punt return for a TD.
He is rated the No. 45 wideout nationally by Rivals.com Academically, he carries a 2.8 GPA and has a 16 on the ACT. He projects as a full-qualifier.
