Honors: Was selected team MVP and made the all-region team as a junior.
Favorite Schools: Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Florida State, Iowa and N.C. State.
Skinny: A dynamic athlete who could excel at any number of positions on the field, Dajuan Morgan eagerly awaits his senior season as he gets to return to his favorite role.
“I’m going to be a wide receiver at the next level, so I’m really looking forward to playing that spot again next season,” he said. “They needed me at quarterback last year, and it was pretty fun at times, but in my mind I’m a receiver. Guys like Randy Moss and Jerry Rice and Cris Carter have always been my favorite players.”
Morgan combines a good frame with 4.4 speed and a 34-inch vertical to pose a dangerous target at wideout. A number of top programs have already taken note of his ability, including: Miami, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, N.C. State, Maryland, Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Colorado.
“Florida and Ohio State have said they’re going to offer (a scholarship), but I haven’t seen anything official from them yet,” Morgan said. “My favorites at this point are Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Florida State, Iowa and N.C. State.
“I’ve been a fan of Miami since I was a little boy. I always liked watching their teams because they’re consistently in the hunt for the national championship. Their players always seem to go on to the NFL and do well. I like Florida, too, because they’ve had a good passing offense with great receivers. I like the quarterback (Chris Leak) that they signed this year. It would be fun to play with him. So Miami and Florida are my top two right now.”
Morgan plans to attend the Nike combine at Miami. He hopes to camp this summer at Miami, Florida and “maybe one more if I have time.”
Academically, he is a 3.0 student who will take his test later this month.
