Bartow (Fla.) wide receiver Malcolm Johnson currently claims a half-dozen scholarship offers from a wide variety of programs, including two in-state BCS Conference Schools.
"I have offers from Virginia Tech, Miami (Fla.), South Florida, Arizona State, Kansas, Rutgers and I think that's it," Johnson said,
Johnson, who had 33 catches for 810 yards during his junior season, says that one overriding factor will help him determine which program fits him best.
"I'm looking for some playing time right away," he said.
This summer, Johnson plans to test his skills at a variety of prospect camps.
"I'm trying to go to Rutgers, Florida and Florida State," he said. "I might not be able to go to the Rutgers camp, I got to ask my mom if I can go."
The Scarlet Knights are recruiting Johnson as an athlete and are the only program that has mentioned defense as a possibility for the 6-foot-2, 170-pounder.
"They say I might play both sides of ball," Johnson said. "Wherever they need me the most, I'll play. I don't care if its offense or defense."
