Florida WR favors Pitt

Two years ago the Pittsburgh had one of the top receivers in college football in Antonio Bryant, who is now a starter for the Dallas Cowboys. This year the Panthers will have another receiver that could some day be off to pro ranks in Larry Fitzgerald. The Panthers are looking at another prospect that may be in the same mold.
Johnnie Peyton from Pasco High School is a name that not many in recruiting circles have heard of yet. That is likely to change soon. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound receiver is in the same mold as Fitzgerald and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. Not only is he a star on the field but also in the classroom. Peyton carries a 3.1 GPA and recently scored a 19 on the ACT making him fully qualified. During his junior season he had 22 receptions and over 760 yards and reached the end zone 15 times.

Despite early scholarship offers from schools much closer to home, like LSU, Georgia Tech and Auburn, Peyton favors the Panthers.
"Pittsburgh, they are my leader at this time and if not for the distance factor I may have committed to them already," he said. "Coach JD Brockhart has called me and he is very nice. I have also called them to speak about their program."
Peyton added that the main reason he has not committed to the Panthers is because he wants his mother to be able to see him play.
Here is what he had to say about his other top teams:
Florida: "They were my favorite team growing up."
LSU: "I like some of the players they signed last year. Jamarcus Russell is a very good quarterback and I would not mind playing with him."
Georgia Tech: "They are close to home and I like their academics."
Miami: "Their record the past few years has been very impressive."
FSU: "I have followed them since I was little. My brother is a die hard Seminole fan and trying to convince me to go there."
