The first official visit for Estero (Fla.) wide
receiver

Micah Rucker left him with strong impressions.
"I went to Wake Forest on the weekend of Nov. 15,
and as of right now, they're my leader," he said. "I really liked the place.
I got to meet all the football coaches and a bunch of the players, and I got
to meet the basketball coaches too. They've given me the OK to play both
sports, so I was real happy about that.
"It was just a good all-around experience -- nice
campus, real good academic support. But the biggest thing that stood out was
the people. They showed a lot of love to you without being real obnoxious or
trying to pressure you. I like that."
Rucker (6-6, 190, 4.65) is a member of the
Rivals.com
Florida Top 100 team and one of
the largest wide receiver targets on the recruiting map. Some have projected
him as a tight end, but he says "all the teams on my list now are talking
about receiver. I've never played tight end in my life, and I'd prefer not
to."
In addition to Wake Forest, he's got offers from
Pittsburgh, Clemson, South Carolina and Michigan State.
Where are his other official visits likely to take
him?
"Right now, I'm looking hard at Florida, Southern
Cal, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Michigan State," he said. "I'm hoping to pick
up a couple of more scholarship offers, then decide where to go."
As a senior, Rucker caught 52 passes for 870 yards
and eight touchdowns.
