Florida WR commits to Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Badgers have landed a commitment from Ft. Lauderdale wide receiver Xavier Harris who made his official visit to Madison Dec. 9.
"I committed to Wisconsin," Harris said. "The main reason was academics."

Football played a part in Harris' decision too.
"I think I'll have a chance to come in and play early," Harris said. "I like everything about Wisconsin, but those were the main two things."
New Badger coach Brett Bielema was also an important factor in Harris' selecting Wisconsin.
"Coach Bielema was the person I've been talking to most," Harris said. "He's a good person. He's also one of the reason I chose Wisconsin."
However it's not totally certain Harris is finished with his official visits.
When asked if he will take the visit he has scheduled to Clemson Jan. 13, Harris said, "Maybe, maybe not. I've talked to Michigan State too, but we haven't set a date."
The 5-foot-10 and 170 pound Harris caught 48 passes for over 800 yards and seven touchdowns during his senior season. He committed to the Badgers over scholarship offers from Clemson, Michigan State, and Iowa.
