Florida TE lining up three visits

One of the nation’s elite tight end prospects has two official visits tentatively scheduled and a third in the works.
“My top three are Vanderbilt, North Carolina and Virginia,” said Venice (Fla.) star Brad Allen. “I’ve scheduled an official visit for Oct. 18 at Vanderbilt (for the Georgia game). We’re working things out for Nov. 22 at Virginia (for the Georgia Tech game), and North Carolina hasn’t been determined yet. But I’m pretty sure of those three.”

Anyone else still have a shot?
“Oh, yeah,” Allen said. “I’d like to say that I’m still open to more schools – like Ohio State and Michigan. I’m still thinking about them, maybe a few others. Michigan has offered and Ohio State sounds like they might”
Allen (6-4, 240, 4.78) has offers from Vanderbilt, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, Auburn, Clemson and Purdue, among others. He received calls from the Tar Heels and Commodores on Wednesday night and heard from the Buckeyes and Wolverines earlier this week.
He previously listed Auburn and Georgia Tech among his leaders, but says Auburn isn’t in the mix anymore and Georgia Tech withdrew its offer.
“I’m not sure what happened there,” Allen said. “I kind of liked them. They’ve just fallen by the wayside.”
Allen hasn’t taken any unofficial visits this fall. He said his team’s schedule and his school work haven’t allowed him time to travel. “I’ll probably just make my official visits,” he added.
Venice is 3-0 this season. Against Bay Point, Allen had a pass deflection that turned into an interception and his first defensive touchdown of his career. He had three receptions for 35 yards in his last game, his best receiving game of the year.
“We don’t throw it all that much, so it was nice to get three catches,” he said.
Academically, he carries a 3.7 GPA and has scored a 1240 on the SAT and a 24 on the ACT.
