Florida TE heads to the Big 12

The Nixon name is one that is familiar to the Oklahoma family and the Sooner Nation. Freddie Nixon was a reserve tight end for Barry Switzer. His son, Laenar Nixon, might have taken a bit of a round about path but he ended up just where he wanted to be.

"I did it,” he said. “I committed while I was there. I knew from the second I got to Norman that was where I wanted to be. It was such a great trip everything about it was just perfect."
Nixon said he had a feeling this would happen before he ever left Miami.
"Growing up with my dad and stuff like that it has always kind of been my dream," he said. "So when the offer came and my trip got set up it was just like the stars aligned or something."
Nixon had been talking about this for a few weeks now.
"Well at the California-Florida game I was talking about going to Oklahoma," he said. "Actually me and Davin Joseph were talking about how fun it's going to be playing together.”
