Florida TE goes national

A lot can change in a month. Take Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson two-way star Trent Pupello for example. When Rivals.com last checked in with him back in early May he had an offer from Kansas, since then he's racked up offers from some of the top programs in college football.
"My coach said he's never seen anything like it around here," Pupello, a tight end/defensive lineman, said. "We had a ton of coaches come through in May, and I guess I impressed them a lot. I've been working hard and have added some good weight and lowered my speed.

"I'm now in the 255-pound range, which is up about 10 pounds since the NIKE Camp, and I'm now in even better shape than before."
That shape and a strong spring attracted some pretty impressive scholarship offers.
Florida State, Oklahoma, LSU, Ole Miss, San Diego State and Nebraska were the offers that he could remember off the top of his head. He did spend one day at camp recently at Miami.
"It surprises the hell out of me that all these people came at me," Pupello, who is 6-foot-3, said.
When asked what schools he would like to take official visits to, he mentioned Florida State and Nebraska, but he then quickly backtracked off that.
"I don't know," he said. "I don't think I can answer that. It's too tough to answer this early in the process."
