Florida TE closer to pick
Laener Nixon has been leaning toward Virginia Tech for about a month now. Is he getting closer to committing?
"Well, maybe, and maybe not," Nixon, who is 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. "I'm set to visit Virginia Tech on Nov. 30. I guess that could go a long way toward my decision. But I'd still like to take five visits and see what happens."

Nixon said he is probably leaning about 75 percent toward the Hokies at this point.
"I just think I could come in and play pretty early," Nixon said. "I like their offense."
Nixon said Miami, Oklahoma, Missouri, Auburn and Miami of Ohio are the other teams that are involved. He has offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Miami of Ohio and Missouri.
Nixon's father, Fred Nixon, played at Oklahoma from 1976-1979. He only has the Virginia Tech trip lined up at this point.
“I’ve got to get the others set sometime here soon,” Nixon said.
