Class of 2019 wide receiver Isaiah Washington has already caught the eye of a few major programs, with schools like Cincinnati, Southern Miss and Connecticut on his offer list. But if everything goes according to plan this spring, that trio is just the start.

“I’m just waiting on spring to see what opportunities come my way,” the 6-foot-3 wide receiver said. “I’ll be doing a lot of camps and playing 7-on-7 and taking plenty of visits.”

One of the biggest programs to show interest in Washington over the past month is nearby Florida State, which has already been in contact.

“Florida State has been talking to me very heavy,” Washington said. “Florida as well. A lot of coaches are reaching out and telling me they are keeping an eye on me and that they want to see me on campus.”

How legit is the ‘Noles interest in Washington? Apparently he’s already talked with new head coach Willie Taggart and he’s excited to see how he the Florida native leads the program in 2018 and beyond.

“I have heard from Coach Taggart and the rest of the staff,” Washington said. “I’m all for a Florida guy coming back to the state and leading the program. He did a great job at Oregon and I think he will do a great job at FSU. I would be honored to play for him and I think I would be a good fit in his offense.”

Washington said he’s planning on making a trip to Tallahassee soon, and also has visit to Virginia Tech and Florida in mind.
