Florida State offers Louisiana DT

On Friday night, Houma (La.) H.L. Bourgeois had its spring scrimmage against Louisiana 5A power Destrehan. While Destrehan got the best of H.L. Bourgeois during the scrimmage, star defensive tackle Damien Jacobs got some good news following the game that helped ease the pain of the loss.
Florida State had coaches in attendance for the game and following a strong performance by Jacobs, the Seminoles indicated that an official scholarship offer was on the way.

"After the spring game Friday they were there and they told me that they were offering," Jacobs said. "The game went pretty good. I had a decent game. I wish we could've had a better team effort."
Though Jacobs was disappointed in the outcome of the game, he couldn't have been happier with the news that came afterwards.
"I was real excited," he said. "It was kind of a dream come true. It was really exciting. It was a surprised. I didn't know he was going to offer that soon."
The ACC program is certainly one that Jacobs has some familiarity with and one that he has a very serious interest in now that an offer is on the table.
"I know they always have a good program and they're going to be strong because they have a good coaching staff and stuff like that," he said of the Seminoles.
Jacobs will be taking a closer look at the Florida State this program this summer when he camps in Tallahassee. Before that trip however, he will be taking in a couple of other camps.
"This Friday I'm going to Auburn and then Tennessee," he said. "I'm going to make a visit to Tulsa and probably LSU some time this summer. The Auburn trip is just to visit but Tennessee is for the O-line/D-line camp on June 1st."
Among all of the schools showing Jacobs significant interest, there are two in particular Jacobs is holding out hope for an offer from.
"I'm hoping to get an offer from Auburn and LSU for sure," he said. "I'm trying to get those two offers for sure."
