Recruiting has been weighing hard on Marquez Ezzard for quite some time, but he can breathe a little easier now.
After his second visit to Florida State, Marquez Ezzard has committed to the Seminoles.
"Everything just feels right at Florida State," said Ezzard. "It was a tough decision, but the coaches and the people there just made it feel right."
Ezzard planned to announce his decision July 10, and it was going to be Florida State then too, but he decided to take a little more time, think things over, take one more visit, and he just wanted to make 100-percent sure of his decision before giving his word to Jimbo Fisher.
"I have been thinking about this for a while now. I have always liked Florida State and the more I am around the coaches, the more I like it.
"They made me feel important and that was big for me."
The 6-foot-1, 200 pound wide receiver out of Stockbridge (Ga.) not only likes the feel he has when in Tallahassee, but he is excited about the offense he will have the opportunity to play in there.
"The Florida State offense was a big part of my decision," said Ezzard. "They throw the ball a lot, they always have top quarterbacks and I feel they will get me the ball.
"Coach [Jimbo] Fisher has talked to me about the offense, about how I will fit into it and I like it a lot."
Not only is the Rivals 250 prospect happy with his decision, but his father is too. Florida State impressed the elder just as much, if not more.
"My dad loves Florida State. He loved our first visit there and he really is high on them. We had some important talks about recruiting and Florida State was his favorite too.
"I know both of us like Florida State a lot."
Ezzard is happy to have his commitment to behind him and he is strong to the Seminoles, but he is still leaning towards taking his five official visits at this time. It is something we will continue to track.
