TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Hamsah Nasirildeen worked out during the final session of Florida State’s July prospect camp. The Rivals250 defensive back made a couple interceptions and turns the heads of Seminole coaches.
Still, this wasn’t some coming out party. Nasirildeen arrived in Tallahassee with a scholarship offer and little left to prove. The news – or something resembling it anyway-- came following his workout, when he named a top four.
“There’s a top four for sure,” Nasirildeen said. “Florida State, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina.”
Nasirildeen talked at length about his relationship with the FSU staff when it came time to explain the Seminoles’ place in his top four. He mentioned conversations with head coach Jimbio Fisher and even gave a nod to a current player or two. Still, it seems his relationship with assistant coach Jay Graham is a big part of what landed the program in Nasirildeen’s tops four.
“Coach Graham is a big thing. If you have a coach that knows you personally and will look at for you, that’s good. …And the way they produce safeties and get them to the next level. That’s big.”
A four-star prospect, Nasirildeen attended Concord (N.C.) High School. He currently lists more than 20 major scholarship offers.
IN HIS WORDS: “Coach Fisher let me know that I would be a good fit,” Nasirildeen said. “He see’s a lot of potential in me.”
RIVALS REACTION: Nasirildeen’s first visit to Tallahassee seemed to go as well as FSU could have hoped. That said, the four-star prospect was never close to making a commitment. He has set no timetable for a decision and truly seems torn between his current top four.
