Florida star considers Big Ten offers

Apopka, Fla., standout Eric Sledge is a hot commodity among college football recruiters. Sledge says he has scholarship offers from a number of Big Ten schools as well as many others, though he is not sure of the exact number.
"I haven't counted to tell you the truth," Sledge said. "I'd say between 15 and 20."

"I'm pretty much trying to go to the best team. Basically I'm keeping all my doors open. I had it narrowed down for awhile, but now I want to stay open."
Sledge was asked to name some of the schools he will consider.
"West Virginia, all the Florida teams of course. Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue. Maybe LSU and USC. I still have to get more into it. I have to do more research."
"West Virginia was my first offer. Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State offered me. Some of them are verbal offers."
"Growing up of course I liked Florida, Florida State, and Miami. My cousin goes to Miami. Another cousin goes to Florida State."
"Most schools want me for wide receiver. But I'm playing cornerbck and wide receiver this year."
The 6-foot-2 and 180 pound Sledge played safety during his sophomore and junior seasons. He made 75 tackles and intercepted two passes his junior year.
