Florida sleeper waits on schools

One sleeper prospect in the state of Florida this year is Pensacola (Florida) Washington safety Jasper Simmons. The 6-foot, 187-pounder is only hearing from a few schools but is looking to make that number grow.
"I'm a hard-hitting safety," Simmons said. "It's just a part of my game I've always had."

Florida Atlantic is the only school sending him mail at this time, but Simmons says he grew up a Miami fan.
"I'm hoping to hear from them and that would be nice," Simmons said. "It doesn't really matter though. I just want to go to college and play football.
"Miami just plays as a team and it's something I've always liked about them."
During the regular season, Simmons said he had 51 tackles along with five interceptions. This coming year, he wants to look past individual statstics and take his team farther.
"I just want to get into the post-season," he said. "That's my No. 1 goal right now."
