Florida safety cancels USC visit

Three-star Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater safety Kenny Ingram was scheduled to take an official visit to Southern Cal this weekend, but says he postponed the trip.
“I’m not sure if I’m going to reschedule it,” he said. “I looked into things, and they just signed two safeties from junior college. For me to go there, I don’t think it would be right, because I probably wouldn’t end up going there in the end. It’s not a real good situation for me anymore.”

Ingram (6-6, 200, 4.51) said he’ll refocus his attention on five schools that currently comprise his leaders. He has visits scheduled for Miami (12/19), Florida State (1/9) and Florida (1/16), and has tentatively set a Jan. 23 date with Georgia.
So who stands the best chance to get the fifth and final visit?
“I’ve been talking a lot more with Ole Miss,” Ingram said. “Their coach is calling me a lot lately, and we’ve developed a good relationship. I’m not sure if I’m going to visit yet, but one of my homeboys, Alan Abrams from Apopka, is up there and he’s trying to recruit me real hard. We played middle school football together. We’re pretty close, and he talks about how it would be cool to have another Florida guy there. We’ll see.”
Florida State remains the odds-on favorite for Ingram, but he maintains that he's keeping an open mind to all the schools he will visit.
Ingram, who is rated the No. 11 safety in the nation by Rivals.com, has five interceptions this season in leading Edgewater to the third round of the state playoffs. He had 60 tackles and six interceptions as a junior.
Academically, he carries a 3.0 GPA and is waiting for his latest test scores.
