Florida runner an all-around athlete

Titusville (Fla.) running back/linebacker Muhammed De'Reese knows what he is looking for in a college program.
"I want to go to a school that has a lot of potential," he said. "I also want the ability to play two sports."

De'Reese has gotten some early letters from colleges.
"I've gotten letters from nearly every program across the South," he said. "Miami, Florida, North Carolina and schools like that.
"All of them tell me they want me to take the SAT. I am going to be taking the SAT on April 8."
De'Reese has his eye on a few programs.
"There are a couple of them that I can see myself going to," he said. "Miami, Florida, Clemson and N.C. State (are some schools)."
De'Reese rushed for 800 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2005 at running back, but also tallied 50 tackles (10 for loss and six sacks) at linebacker.
"Running back is where I think I can play at the next level," he said. "But if I had to play linebacker, I could do that, too. But I think I am better at running back."
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder also wrestles and participates in track at the high school level. He finished third in the state wrestling tournament in the 215-pound classification this year, just his second season participating in the sport.
In track, he throws the discus, runs the 100 and 200-meter and competes in the triple jump.
He hopes to participate on the track team at his college of choice.
"I want to do track," Muhammed said. "I'd probably either do the discus or the 100 meter. I've been working out with my track coach on the 100 meter."
