Florida RB/WR waits for big three

Three-star Arcadia (Fla.) DeSoto running back/wide receiver Chris Clemons has been kept busy in recent days by an almost constant ringing of the telephone.
“There’s been a lot of calls coming in,” he said. “I haven’t been home for all of them, but I did get to talk to Clemson, Louisville, Duke, Michigan State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Iowa, Marshall and Wake Forest.

“All of those schools have offered me. I also have offers from Auburn and South Carolina, but I haven’t been home for their calls.”
Asked if he had any leaders at this point, Clemons said: “Not right now. I’m kind of waiting to see what the Florida schools do before I start setting up any of my visits. I’d like to play for Florida or Florida State or maybe Miami. They’re sending me some stuff, but I haven’t got a chance to talk with them on the phone. If I have a big season, I’m hoping they will offer.”
He plans to make an unofficial visit to the Florida State-Florida game in Gainesville on Nov. 29.
Clemons (6-1, 180, 4.4) opened his senior year with 102 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a fumble recovery last week. As a junior, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards and scored 14 touchdowns while picking off six passes on defense.
He’s projected by most schools as a running back, but some also like his athleticism and hands at receiver.
Academically, he maintains a 3.8 GPA and has scored a 19 on the ACT.
