Florida RB gives Rutgers high marks

Plantation, Fla., cornerback/running back Dennis Campbell is a dynamic playmaker from South Florida, who took headed north this weekend on his first official visit.
“I took an official visit to Rutgers this weekend,” Campbell said. “It was a good trip, I really had a lot of fun. Demetri Linton was my host and we hung out a lot. They showed me around campus and their weight room really stood out a lot. I would rate the visit a nine.”

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Campbell attended the Miami NIKE camp where he ran the shuttle in 4.21 seconds and had a 27-inch vertical jump. He also runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
“Right now I do not have any other official visits set up,” Campbell said. “Minnesota and Oklahoma State are coming in this week to meet with me at my school. I would say that after my visit to Rutgers they are probably on top of the other schools just a little bit.”
Campbell compiled 700 yards and 12 touchdowns last season in a backup running back role to third-team All-Broward-County selection Travorous Bass. Campbell hit a few bumps early this season with a bruised calf that kept him from seeing action in three games, but in the four games he’s seen action in this season, he has averaged more than 115 yards a contest in a competitive Class 6A league.
