Florida RB doing well on defense

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Lakes running back/linebacker Glenis Thompson is making a name for himself as the third round of the state playoffs awaits he and his teammates, but not so much on offense as many thought he would.
The 5-foot-8, 203-pound star has been doing some damage on defense after recording over 100 tackles during the regular season at the linebacker position. Thompson likes the new experience.

"I've been doing really well on defense," Thompson said. "I mean, I'm being recruited at running back but linebacker has really been a lot of fun."
There are certainly a lot of schools that like Thompson on offense though. A few new schools have put in calls.
"Ohio State and Notre Dame both have called me," Thompson said. "I got a new offer from Florida Atlantic as well."
Thompson is also finalizing some of his first visit dates. Western Michigan has been moved to Dec. 9 because of the SAT date. He is also looking at a few other possible trips.
"If Notre Dame and Ohio State offer, I'll probably go there," Thompson said. "They told me they've watched my film and they think I'll be a good running back. If not, I could play linebacker as well."
Thompson says nothing will happen by way of a commitment until his visits are done.
"I want to see how the campus is and the area of all these colleges so I can find the best fit for me," Thompson said.
