Reggie Davis didn't take long to
make his decision when N.C. State came through with a scholarship offer during
his official visit this weekend.
"I was all over it," he said emphatically. "I'm real
happy right now. I didn't know what to expect when I was going up there, but in
the back of my mind, I was really hoping this would happen.
"Everybody up there was like one big family and coach
(Chuck) Amato is like the father figure. It just felt perfect for me, both for
football and school."
Davis (6-2, 220, 4.5), the No. 15
all-purpose back in the nation,
was also considering Boston College, Indiana and Illinois State. As a senior, he
rushed for 1,597 yards and 15 touchdowns at Godby HS.
