Florida QB out of the shadow

Playing back-up quarterback behind Dan Shula at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas has perhaps slowed Chris Carr’s recruiting outlook, but he’s not worried.
“I didn’t see the field much last year," Carr said. "I only threw nine passes, but I’m not worried. Everybody will see what I can do this year. I attended a few camps this summer and that generated some increased interest.”

After a five-day camp at Michigan, Carr was contacted by Bowling Green, Princeton, and Ball State. He also attended camp at Bishop-Dullaghan in Lakeland, Florida, and a one-day camp at Northwestern.
“I did pretty well at Northwestern, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Carr said. "They seemed to have some interest in me.”
Missouri is communicating nearly every day by mail and plans are in the works for a visit there. Tennessee, Central Florida, Arizona State, Kansas State, Colorado and Georgia have also been making contact.
“I’d like to go to Arizona State," Carr said. "I took an unofficial visit there last year and I really liked it. They had some senior recruits there at the time and they let me go with them. I really just want to go where I can play.”
Northwestern, Colorado and Washington round out the current list of Carr’s top choices.
Carr has already qualified academically with a 3.7 GPA and an 1150 SAT score.
