Jason Davis has a handful of scholarship offers on his table,
but is still waiting for a favorite to emerge.
"My coach handles most of that, but he tells me I've
got offers from Army, Navy, Colorado State, Cincinnati, Ohio, Penn and
Minnesota," said Davis, a member of the Rivals.com
Florida
Top 100 team and the No. 45 pro-style quarterback in the
nation.
"Army and Navy have called here a lot. They're
probably the most active, but I've told them that I'd really rather go to a
'regular' college. I'm not sure how I'd fit in at the military schools, but
if they end up being the best option for me, I might consider it."
Davis has yet to take any unofficial visits. He said
he's currently in the process of setting up officials. "I'll be going to
Colorado State sometime in January," he said. "That's the first one I've
talked about. I'll probably be going to the other schools who have offered
me, too. It just depends on if there are any new offers.
"I've been so focused on the season and our team
that I haven't really broken it down to who my favorites are."
Through seven games this season, Davis has thrown
for 1,050 yards and 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He had 700
yards as a junior.
"I'm seeing the field a lot better," he said. "I'm
reading defenses for the first time. Last year, I'd pretty much just lock on
to a receiver, and if he was covered, we usually didn't complete the pass."
