"I have set up one official visit to Georgia Tech," Carter said. "It will be December 14th and 15th. That's the only one I'm sure of right now. The rest of them I'm still waiting to get an answer but I'm not sure which ones I really want to take right now. I'm thinking about also visiting Michigan and right now that's about it."
Carter recently added a scholarship offer from West Virginia in addition to the other offers he received over the summer. He's been getting a lot of phone calls from college coaches this month.
"I probably get like 10 calls a day I guess. There's a lot of new schools calling. It's been fun but at the same time it's been hectic."
Favorites?
"My top five is still Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia Tech, and LSU," Carter said.
Among his top five he has offers from Georgia Tech and LSU. Patrick is also having a pretty good start to the season. He passed for 331 yards and three touchdowns in the first game against Seminole, a 21-31 loss. Carter was 12 of 16 for 107 yards in a 56-16 victory over Boca Ciega where Lakewood had over 400 total yards rushing. Last Friday in a 32-0 shutout over Largo, Carter was 12 of 20 for 179 yards. He's also been getting quite a bit of attention from his hometown newspaper, The St. Petersburg Times.
"They have a photographer following me around throughout the season and I think it's going to carry over until basketball season or until I sign I guess," Carter said. "They're going to have a story on it sometime. At the beginning of the season they had a feature called Tampa Bay's Top Talents and I was No. 5. I was on the front page of the high school edition and mailed a bunch of copies to my family."
Carter attended the Florida-Miami game a couple weeks ago in Gainesville and plans on attending the Florida-Kentucky game this week. He said he might also catch a Florida State game in October.
