Florida QB awaits word from MSU

Having seen his opportunities to play quarterback fall by the wayside at some schools he was considering, Tampa (Fla.) Blake quarterback Micah Brown was ready to start looking at the I-AA level to pursue his football goals.
But a new school entered the picture late and has his full attention.

“Mississippi State has come on real hard the last two weeks,” he said. “They came on kind of late, but that’s understandable with the new coaching staff. They started calling me and asked for some film. I sent it to them, and heard back from a couple of their assistant coaches. They said they liked what they saw.
“They told me they’d be back in touch with me by the end of the week to let me know where I stand. If they offer me a scholarship, I’m going to commit to them.”
Brown (6-1, 185, 4.55) had been considering Syracuse and South Carolina earlier this year, but both projected him more as an athlete than a quarterback.
If the offer doesn’t materialize with Mississippi State, he says he’ll take a look at Alcorn State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UT-Chattanooga, Arkansas-Pine Bluff or Alabama A&M.
Brown passed for 912 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.
