Florida PK to go west

As Rivals alluded to in an earlier report this week, three star place-kicker/punter Jay Ottovegio (6-0, 190, 4.7) from Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas has committed to Stanford.
Ottovegio had a great trip to Stanford and his only hesitation in committing while on the trip was the distance from home. He wanted to talk it over with his parents.

Ottovegio chose Stanford over offers from Kansas State, Illinois, Colorado State, and San Diego State.
Ottovegio is one of the best dual place-kicker/punters in the nation. “Initially at Stanford I will punt,” Ottovegio said. “Eventually I will do both.”
Ottovegio finished his senior year at St. Thomas Aquinas hitting on 10 of 15 field goals with a long of 48. He hit 42 of 44 extra points, and kicked 70 out of 79 kickoffs into or out of the end zone. Ottovegio also averaged 42 yards on 25 punts with 12 downed inside the 20.
For good measure Ottovegio is a finalist for the Riddell Footwear All-American Team (Top 10 kickers in US) which will be announced on January 16th.
