Florida OL shuffles visit list

An extended run in the Florida state playoffs led Miami Carol City’s Akeem Robinson to cancel his official visit with Rutgers this weekend, but he’s got a new date for the Scarlet Knights and three other schools.
“We've advanced to the state championship, so I’m going to Rutgers now on Jan. 23,” he said. “I also have Clemson on Jan. 9, USF of Jan. 16 and Florida on Jan. 30. USF has offered me verbally now, and Clemson’s coach – coach West – came by the school to see me. He’s coming back to visit with my family at the house, so things are looking pretty good with them, too.”

Rutgers was the first to offer Robinson (6-4, 263, 4.9) and has been his long-standing favorite, but he said the process is still “wide open.”
“I think I’m going to wait and see how things work out with these other schools,” he said. “It seems like Florida and Miami waiting to see what some other people are doing, so it’s best for me to be patient.”
Robinson is a converted tight end who has tremendous agility and athleticism. With added bulk, he could be a sleeper to watch on the offensive line.
