Ranked as the nation’s No. 7 offensive tackle and the No. 70 player overall in the nation, Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview lineman Drew Miller is a wanted man.
And living in Florida, there is no question that Miami and Florida are heavily involved in his recruitment. According to his father, Randy Miller, his son is enjoying the recruiting process and the attention.
“We were at Florida last week for one of their camps,” Miller said about his 6-foot-6, 305-pound son that is ranked as a four-star prospect. “Coach Zook and Wickline wanted a commitment really bad. Drew told them that they were at the top with Miami, but he wasn’t ready to commit yet.
“They understood and said they would wait until the end for him.”
Just like others schools will probably do, too.
Miller has scholarship offers from Florida, Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and many others. The offers from Georgia and Tennessee came in the mail in the last two weeks.
After enjoying his visit to Florida, Miller is now scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Miami this Wednesday.
Academically, Miller has a 2.5 core GPA and has scored a 1000 on the SAT. He said his core has been steadily rising since a disappointing freshman year that put him in a hole. He had a 3.5 GPA this past semester.
