Florida OL heads to MWC

Valrico (Fla.) Durant offensive lineman Michael Cannon has decided that he wants to play college football in the Mountain West Conference.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder is a two-star rated prospect and one of many under-the-radar players that come out of the Sunshine State every year.

"I committed to New Mexico," Cannon said. "It's pretty awesome. Everything about New Mexico, the mountains, the facilities, it was awesome."
Cannon committed during his official visit to Albuquerque.
Troy Reffett is Cannon's Lobo recruiter of record.
Robert Turner was Cannon's player host during his visit.
"He was down to Earth," Cannon said. "He's a real nice guy and we had a lot of things in common. He was very helpful."
Cannon also spent some time with New Mexico offensive line coach Bob Bostad.
"We got to talk with a lot of the coaches, especially coach Bostad," Cannon said. "(New Mexico head coach Rocky Long) knows a lot about football. He was excited about the weekend and about me coming."
Cannon had official visits set for Miami (Ohio) and Louisiana-Lafayette, but now is unsure if he will take them.
"I may take the Miami visit, but that's all and I won't change my mind."
