Florida offers 2013 DE

Avon, Ind., 2013 defensive end Elijah Daniel is originally from the south, and he returned to that region of the country this weekend to see the big SEC showdown between Florida and Alabama in Gainesville. The trip turned out to be beneficial for the 6-4, 253-pound defender.
Daniel traveled to Gainesville with his defensive coordinator from Avon High. They arrived Saturday morning and were able to tour the campus before the night game kickoff.

"That was my first time being in Florida," Daniel said. "It was a crazy atmosphere. I got to see all the fans and I thought it was really tight. The game was real crazy until Alabama got farther ahead. The atmosphere was real good for almost the whole game."
In pregame, Daniel and his coach spent time on the field talking with his recruiter, assistant coach Bryant Young, as well as Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. It was then that the Gators staff relayed their intent to offer Daniel.
"[The offer] came up with my coach, and he mentioned it to me. I was just checking things out with the other recruits," Daniel said. "I didn't expect it. They were real excited about me and they really, really loved my film. Hopefully there is more to come."
The offer from Florida is Daniel's fifth of the process, joining previous offers from Indiana, Iowa, Marshall and Purdue.
Daniel plans to continue taking visits throughout the fall. He will attend a game at Notre Dame on Oct. 22, one at Alabama on Nov. 5 and also plans to see a Florida State game this fall.
