Florida lineman talks first offers, his passion

CELEBRATION, Fla.Jeremiah Jackson plays both ways for Lakeland (Fla.) Kathleen, but he is being recruited to play on the defensive side of the ball.

Jackson is a 6-foot-3, 255 pound sophomore and some schools like him end, while others see him as a tackle on the next level. Nebraska was first to offer the 2022 prospect last spring. He recently added an offer from FIU.

Schools like Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and UCF are showing interest.

He grew up with a favorite, and it is not a school from his home state.

"I have always liked Tennessee," said Jackson. "I have looked into the program, they have a strong aviation program, and that is what I want to major in, so it has drawn me to Tennessee.

"I have been up there too, and I like the scenery. I like the mountains, the streams, it is calm and it just seems like a place I would like a lot."

The Vols have not offered, but the Huskers have. There is some distance between Kathleen to Lincoln, but Jackson has an open mind.

"It meant a lot to get that offer from Nebraska. It is really opened my eyes and showed me a lot about my game. I do not know a lot about Nebraska yet, but I know it is a good college, I like the coaches I have talked to and it is a school I am going to look more into for sure."

Jackson cannot wait to go through the recruiting process. He loves the game of football, but his "passion" is aerospace engineering. He hopes to use football to pay for college, get his degree and then to design and build airplanes down the road.
