Florida LB schedules two Big Ten official visits

Clearwater (Fla.) Catholic linebacker Colin McCarthy has scheduled two official visits, both to Big Ten schools.
"I set up an official visit up to Ohio State," McCarthy said. "I'll be up there for the Ohio State-Iowa game. I believe that's Sept. 24.

"I have an official visit to Penn State for the Penn State-Ohio State game. I have two (official visits) set up right now. Both of them have offered a scholarship.
"I have close to 20-25 offers."
When asked about some of the other schools he is looking at that have offered, McCarthy said, "Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Indiana, West Virginia.
"Florida and Florida State are the only in-state schools that haven't offered.
"I don't have a favorite. I hope to narrow things down in the next few weeks."
The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound McCarthy made 118 solo tackles and had 45 assists during his junior season. McCarthy, tabbed as a three-star prospect, had 12 tackles for losses and five interceptions. He is the No. 21 outside linebacker in the Rivals.com player rankings and touted as the No. 61 player in Florida.
"I'm getting recruited as an outside linebacker and strong safety," McCarthy said.
