Notre Dame has picked up a verbal commitment from one of the Sunshine State’s rising linebacker/safety prospects.
“I verbally committed to them on my official visit this weekend,” said Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech standout Maurice Crum. “The overall visit was perfect. It couldn’t have been any better. They had everything that I was looking for in a school, both as a player and a student.
"My host was Dwight Stephenson from Miami. I had a good time getting to know him and some of the other players and recruits that were up there. It just felt like a good fit for me.
"As a player, there's a good opportunity for me to come in and play early. As a student, they have a great academic reputation and I like the diversity there and the chance to be around a lot of different kind of people."
Crum (6-1, 215, 4.6) picked the Fighting Irish over Michigan State, Tennessee and South Florida.
