Position: Outside Linebacker
Size and speed: Harris is 6-foot-1, 208 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He bench-presses 295 pounds and squats 415.
Statistics: As a junior, he recorded 76 tackles, six sacks and three pass break-ups.
Honors: Was selected third-team Class 5A all-state by the FSWA.
Favorite Schools: Florida, Florida State, Miami.
Skinny: Harris is one of three very talented linebackers (along with Brouce Mompremier and Jarrell Guyton) who each earned all-state honors for Edison last season as juniors.
According to Edison coach Corey Bell, Harris may be the most versatile of the three.
“Jermaine’s a real balanced player,” he said. “He plays the run and the pass well, makes a lot of plays in both areas. I’ve always liked his instincts. He’s got good upside, a lot of potential.”
Harris has received early interest from Florida, Florida State, Michigan State, LSU, Kentucky, Iowa and Indiana, among others.
He’s expected to attend the Nike combine at Miami, but hasn’t decided which summer camps he’ll visit.
