Florida LB has first four offers

Rockledge, Fla., linebacker Johnny Holmes has not gotten as much publicity as other linebackers in Florida, but he is quietly putting together a nice list of offers and has four schools on top.
“I have written offers from East Carolina, West Virginia, Marshall and Ole Miss,” Holmes said. “My coach got them over the summer and I had not seen them until recently so I didn’t know I had them until recently.”

The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Holmes runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 secondshas a bench press of 265 pounds and a squat of 400 pounds.
“I’m also hearing a lot from Louisville, Indiana, Florida and Miami,” Holmes said. “I would say that my top schools right now are Miami, Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Marshall and East Carolina. I don’t really have a favorite, but I would put Miami, Florida State, Florida and West Virginia over the other three.”
Holmes earned honorable mention honors the past two seasons after racking up 112 solo tackles, 95 assists, 14 sacks, 36 tackles for a loss and seven fumble recoveries as a junior.
He attended the NIKE camp in Miami in April and also attended Florida’s rising senior camp. At the NIKE camp he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds, ran the shuttle in 4.5 seconds, had a 29-inch vertical jump and did 17 reps on the bench press.
“I want to take all of my visits before I make a decision,” Holmes said. “I want to know that the school I choose is the best situation for me. That is why I want to take my visits and see what I like about each school and what they have to offer.”
