Florida LB getting impressive mail

Big linebackers that can make plays from tackle to tackle and eventually grow into defensive linemen are always guys that get some attention from the college coaches and one player to keep your eye on for 2005 at the position is Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest linebacker Jimmy Avery.
Avery, who is 6-foot-3 and 260 pounds now, is already getting mail from Miami, LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa. He’s yet to earn a scholarship offer yet, but with 130 solo tackles, 25 assists and nine sacks as a junior, he’s sure to get some offers before its said and done.

“I’m a relentless player,” Avery said. “I think my attitude and my stats speak for themselves. I just go out there and work hard and do what it takes to get it done.”
Avery said when it comes time to make a decision, he’ look at things like the area around the campus, the school’s tradition, but does have a few academic things that’ll be important.
“Education most of all will be important for me,” he said. “Then there is the graduation rate. That’s going to be important for me, too.”
