Florida LB enjoys first trip

Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay linebacker Phil Walker took his first official visit of the year this weekend, when he took a trip to Northern Illinois. The trip was the beginning of a very busy month for the two-star rated linebacker.
"I just got back from my official visit to Northern Illinois," the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Walker said. "I really liked it. The coaches are nice and the players are, too. It was nice up there. In fact, right now, they are my No. 1 school."

That status will hold at least for a week, until he takes trip No. 2.
"I am going to take my visit to Marshall this weekend. Then I will take one to Syracuse, then I have a visit to Eastern Michigan to finish out the month."
Walker did have a January 16 trip planned for Kansas State.
"I don't know what the deal is with Kansas State. They are evaluating things and I don't think I'll have time to wait for them. I sent film to them and they have procrastinated and I'm not as interested in them as I was. I want to go somewhere that people want me. My offer from them came from the old coaching staff, so this staff must not be as interested in me."
