Florida LB already up to 70 tackles

Haines City, Fla., hasn’t had as great of a season as it had hoped by starting out with a 1-3 record, but the play of linebacker Jonnie Williams has been anything but disappointing.
With a total of more than 70 tackles in four games, the 5-foot-10, 215-poounder’s play has been sparkling.

And it’s that type of play that is drawing attention from South Florida and Florida State.
“It’s really USF and Florida State,” Williams, a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com, said. “Odell Haggins from Florida State called me tonight. He was just asking about how I’ve played this year and talked about how they’ve been doing and what they hope to do the rest of the season.
“He also told me that they’re going to watch my tape tomorrow and see where I stand on their list. He also told me to make sure and come up for the Miami game.”
Williams said he doesn’t have any scholarship offers at this point but would probably jump at one from the Noles and he said that USF is also a very good option for him, too.
“I’ve been up to a game at Florida State,” he said. “I was up at the Georgia Tech game. Tony Joiner and I were up there for that. Tony has been playing really good ball so far.”
