Florida kicker holds one offer

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. – Naples (Fla.) St. John Neumann standout Jack Griffin came to the recent Chris Sailer Top 12 Kicking Camp with one offer in hand. At the event, Griffin showed that he is well worth the offer as more may soon follow.
"Recruiting is good," Griffin said at the event. "I have an offer from FIU. I'm just looking around and going to camps. I'm doing training in town locally with a couple of guys. It's been really good. I'm just trying to get better."

The in-state offer from FIU is good option for Griffin but he would like to keep himself open to some other opportunities including potential out-of-state options.
"I'm keeping my options open for now," he said. "Staying in Florida would be great but I'd like to leave the state and get away for a little bit and experience other parts of the country. I've been getting letters from everyone. Just FIU has offered for right now and I'm just going to wait for the summer to be over and see what happens."
Griffin has been working hard to improve his kicking with training and he has made some strides in all aspects of his game.
"Consistency-wise for field goals I'm really good," he said. "Off the ground now I can kick it 55 to 58 yards now pretty accurately. And then on kickoffs I'm getting better. I'm getting into the 4.0's now (in hangtime). I'm working on distance and everything and just getting the height down."
Griffin's career long in a game is 48 yards.
