Florida DT has SEC interest

While he has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, plenty of programs have been showing Chipley (Fla.) standout Jermi Johnson attention. The big defensive tackle talked about the programs in the mix for his services in an afternoon interview with Rivals.com.
"Right now, Alabama and Kansas State are the ones most looking at me," Johnson said. "Alabama is supposed to be coming down here to look at me in person."

Lance Thompson is recruiting Johnson for the Crimson Tide and has made quite an impression.
"I like Alabama the most," Johnson said. "I just like their defense and how they are aggressive and it's closer to home and everything and the academics are good."
Mo Latimore is leading the way for the Wildcats.
"When I talked to him he asked me about the schools that were after me," Johnson said. "He said they were interested in me and he was checking if I was interested in them. I am interested in Kansas State."
LSU is a third program that has been involved with Johnson to some extent.
"I was invited to LSU's junior day, but I missed it," he said. "I am going to be invited to the senior day and everything, but I got the letter to go to their junior day two days before it happened so I couldn't make it over there."
The 6-foot-2, 320-pounder has been busy this spring working out and competing in track.
"I've been doing weightlifting and running track," he said. "I throw the shot put in track, things like that."
Johnson plans to attend the NIKE Camp on April 22 on the campus of Florida State in Tallahassee.
