Florida DT has Big 12 ties

Playing for one of the top programs in the state of Florida, defensive tackle Blake Pritchard definitely started to get noticed making his first start last year as a junior. Though he has had success in the Sunshine state, he has family ties much farther from the coast of Florida.
Pritchard definitely has the talent that runs through the family. His father, Joe Sims and uncle, McCathorn Clayton both played for Nebraska between the 1980's and 1990's. The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder says he doesn't have any favorites, but other than Florida schools, would like to hear from the Big 12 school.

"I'm originally from Omaha and played my freshman year at Omaha Central," Pritchard said. "My mom got a job out here, it was tough to say goodbye, but we made our way to Florida. I'm hoping to here from Nebraska though."
The Huskers aren't the only team on his mind though. In-state schools are showing interest and his stock is definitely rising since last year.
"Obviously, I like the Florida schools as well," he said. "There aren't no offers have come yet though. Iowa has sent me a ton of stuff. I know that it will take a while to get my name out there."
Coaches will have to look for Pritchard on the other side of the ball during his senior year. As a junior, the big-framed young man lined up at offensive tackle. However, he says this year his home will be on defense where he feels the most comfortable.
"I love the offensive line, but I have the passion to get after the quarterback," Pritchard said. "I just see myself as a defensive lineman on the next level. Next year, I hope to make all-state and other things if I do well at these camps."
For now, Pritchard says that he'll make his way to Nebraska's summer camp and a NIKE Training Camp.
"I haven't thought about recruiting much yet," he said. "I've thought about when I want to decide and I kind of want to make an early decision. If I get recruited real hard though, it might be on Signing Day."
