Florida DT getting national interest

TAMPA, Fla. - As a freshman in high school showing up for the high school workout program, a future star defensive tackle was spotted in one Demarcus Cleveland. Now going into his senior year, several schools saw what others saw in those early conditioning workouts.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder says that he's a fast defensive lineman for the inside spot and that has schools from different parts of the country. An early offer looks close as one Big 12 school seems to be very interested.

"Kansas told me they're going to offer me along with our quarterback Stephen Garcia," Cleveland said. "It's kind of spread out with the interest. I would like to stay in Florida. I'm hearing from some in-state schools like Florida, UCF, and FIU."
Cleveland says that he wants to wait a while before making a decision no matter how many offers may come in the coming months.
However, Cleveland says that the first offer, even if out-of-state, is still exciting.
"We got the piece of mail that said an offer was coming," Cleveland said about the Jayhawks. "If I go out-of-state, I'd like to go to a school though like Virginia Tech or Georgia Tech since those are two I like."
His senior year will not just be about football. Cleveland says he wants to hit the books hard as well.
"My grades are fine now, but I don't want to slip," he said. "I just want to be one of the elite defensive linemen in Florida. It's something I'm very passionate about. I love the defensive line."
