Florida DT claims second SEC offer

Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Northeast defensive tackle Javontae Boyd received a scholarship offer from Georgia early in the process. Recently, the 6-foot-3, 290-pounder picked up a second offer from a Southeastern Conference program.
"Ole Miss just offered," he said. "That's exciting. I know a couple of people that go there."

Boyd added that Florida and West Virginia have been showing increased interest and could be close to offering.
"They send me text messages," he said.
Assistant coaches David Johnson and Class of 2006 Rivals.com SEC Recruiter of the Year Rodney Garner are recruiting Boyd for the Bulldogs.
"I like everything about Georgia," he said. "I haven't been up there but I'm planning to go up there."
Academics will be important to Boyd when he goes to pick a school.
"I'm going to be looking hard at the graduation rate," he said.
He doesn't have a current favorite.
"I am just wide open," Boyd said.
Boyd has been working hard during to get ready for the 2007 season with his Northeast teammates.
"We've just been running really," he said. "We've been running a lot. We run three days a week."
