Florida corner headed to Syracuse
Jeremi Wilkes is a three-star cornerback prospect from the state of Florida. Wilkes, 5-9 and 180 pounds, made his decision last week but just went public today. He's one of the top defensive backs from he Tampa Bay area.
"I committed to Syracuse ," Wilkes said. "I did it actually last Sunday. I liked the program, their style of defense and I feel as though I can be a good fit there.

"It's a great opportunity for me. I am very happy about the direction. The coaching staff is great and really embraced me. I felt the connection with the defensive coordinator (Scott Shafer) and secondary coach (John Anselmo). I fell in love with the environment."
Wilkes is from Tampa Catholic High School. They play Jacksonville Bolles this coming Saturday for the state championship at 1 pm at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. On the season he has three interceptions and 35 tackles.
Wilkes had scholarship offers from Florida State, Rutgers, Iowa and others.
"It was a pretty tough decision for me. In the end I just felt like Syracuse would be the best fit for me."
