Florida CB makes visit plans

It's that time of year when highly touted prospects like cornerback Chimdi Chekwa of Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge are going to get busy with their official visits. Two of those are in the books for the three-star player.
Chekwa will take in Maryland on Dec. 16 and Wake Forest on Jan. 6. With those two visits, it appears that his favorites have shifted up a bit as well.

"I'd say Georgia Tech is in the lead right now," Chekwa said. "I like the area and what they're doing out there. It seems like they have a city with good people. They compete for the conference title and plus, I've got family in that area."
His first two trips to Maryland and Wake Forest have a lot to do with the relationship he's building with the coaches.
"Coach Tom Elrod at Wake Forest is probably my favorite coach," Chekwa said. "He's really an easy guy to talk with and he's from this area, so we can talk about the teams around here and that sort of thing."
Other schools that have offered Chekwa include Clemson, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Iowa State.
