One of the top prospects in the class of 2020, defensive back Fred Davis took a look at USC over the weekend while on the west coast for an Adidas 7v7 event. The Florida-based standout originally intended to visit UCLA in addition to the Trojans but only had time for one stop during the trip.
And while Davis still awaiting a USC offer, he likes what he saw on campus. “With USC, their facilities was very nice,” Davis said. “I got to see their weight room and indoor training facility. I even got to participate in a team meeting.”
Davis admittedly didn’t have much time to interact with the USC coaches, as the staff was busy with the aforementioned meetings and other spring football activities, but that didn’t stop him from leaving the trip with a takeaway or two.
“USC was about what I thought it would be,” Davis said. “What stood out to me was how many players they put in the league.”
Now back on the East Coast, Davis is starting to make tentative plans for summer visits. The first two programs on the docket are schools from which he’s long held offers. Nothing is set in stone just yet, but the high four-star prospect plans to make things official sooner rather than later.
“Right now, I don’t know when yet,” Davis said. “But in the summer, I’m definitely getting back down to Miami, and Alabama and Florida.”
Davis, who attends Jacksonville’s Trinity Christian High School, holds major offers that span the country and is considered one of the nation’s top cornerbacks in the class of 2020.
