Reggie Davis is getting his own personal version of "Northern Exposure"
this summer.
"I'm hearing a lot from Boston College, Iowa and Indiana,"
said the 6-foot-2, 220-pound all-purpose back and safety from Tallahassee's
talent-rich Godby High School. "Iowa has been sending
me the most lately, and BC has stayed on me pretty hard since offering me a
scholarship. Indiana is the newest team showing me the most interest."
Davis said his current top five includes Boston College,
Florida State, Florida, Miami and Iowa.
"BC is on top because they've shown me so much interest and
made the commitment to me with a scholarship," he said. "But I've always liked
the Florida teams. I'm hoping I get more attention from them if I have a big
senior season."
Davis, a member of the Rivals.com Florida Top 100
team, rushed for more than 400 yards (8.8 yards per carry) while sharing time in
the backfield as a junior. He expects to be a bigger part of the offense this
season after bulking up in the offseason.
"I've grown about an inch and put on 10 or 12 pounds of muscle. I'm really proud
of that," Davis said. "Every year I get better through hard work. I pride myself
on working harder than the next man. I've been taking 5-mile runs every few days
to improve my endurance and leg strength. I'm going to be running with a lot of
power in the fourth quarter this year."
