Florida back Ford off to great start

Sarasota, Fla., running back Mike Ford is having a big senior season. And recruiters have noticed.
"Ohio State is recruiting him," Sarasota coach Bob Perkins said. "Friday night Auburn was at our game. He has offers from Pitt, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, and some other MAC schools. Florida is showing interest too."

"He's working on getting all of his academics in order. He is a devastating, power runner with break-away speed. He's shown us a different gear this year."
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Ford rushed for 1,200 yards during his sophomore year at Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview. After transfering to Sarasota for his junior season, Ford gained 1,075 yards, averaged 7.6 per carry and scored 12 times. After five games this season he has 1,065 yards and 13 touchdowns, going over the 200 yard mark in each game.
